Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Engineer to lead our maintenance operations in Ibadan. In a high-volume manufacturing environment, downtime is the enemy. Your mission is to serve as the custodian of our mechanical assets—ensuring that production, utility, and process equipment operate at peak efficiency.

You will lead a team of technicians to transition our maintenance culture from reactive "firefighting" to world-class Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM). From troubleshooting complex hydraulic systems to optimizing high-speed packaging lines (Fillers, Can plants, and Powder plants), you will be the technical authority on the factory floor. Requirements:

1. Reliability & Maintenance Strategy

• PPM Orchestration: Develop and execute rigorous preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance schedules across all industrial equipment.

• Systems Expertise: Lead the maintenance of diverse systems including Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Gearboxes, Conveying systems, and Basic Pumps.

• Specialized Lines: Provide technical oversight for specialized processing lines, including Mayonnaise filling, Powder plants, and Can manufacturing plants.

2. Technical Troubleshooting & Operational Flow

• Breakdown Resolution: Lead the rapid diagnosis and repair of mechanical failures to minimize "Mean Time To Repair" (MTTR) and maintain production flow.

• System Optimization: Assess equipment health and initiate modifications to enhance reliability, efficiency, and machine lifespan.

• Infrastructure Synergy: Maintain a basic understanding of power distribution and its integration with mechanical production planning.

3. Leadership & Resource Governance

• Team Management: Oversee mechanical technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and engineering standards.

• Capacity Building: Identify technical gaps and develop training programs for operators and technicians to improve first-line maintenance.

• Budget & Inventory: Control the budget for mechanical spares and consumables, ensuring high availability of critical parts while minimizing waste.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: HND or B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Technical Breadth: Proven experience in the maintenance of Fillers, Packaging machines, and Powder/Liquid processing plants.

Core Competencies

• Diagnostic Ability: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and recommend practical, long-term solutions.

• Planning IQ: Proficient in maintenance planning software, record-keeping, and performance reporting.

• Leadership: Ability to coordinate technical activities across departments and manage multidisciplinary teams.
