Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Battery Engineer to lead our technical operations in Lagos. In an environment defined by power fluctuations and high demand for off-grid reliability, your mission is to ensure the peak performance of hybrid and solar PV systems. This role goes beyond simple installation; it requires a deep technical mastery of battery chemistries, inverter circuitry, and system optimization.

As the lead technical resource, you will manage everything from initial site surveys and complex system sizing to the component-level repair of PCB boards and lithium-ion systems. Requirements:

1. Advanced System Design & Engineering

• Strategic Sizing: Conduct precision site assessments to determine energy loads and design efficient layouts for solar panels, inverters, and storage.

• Schematic Architecture: Create detailed system schematics to guide installations and ensure electrical safety and compliance.

• Technology Selection: Evaluate and select the appropriate technology (AGM, Tubular, or Lithium-ion) based on the client's specific energy profile and budget.

2. Component-Level Maintenance & Repair

• Diagnostic Mastery: Use clamp meters, energy meters, and oscilloscopes to diagnose deep-seated faults in inverters and UPS systems.

• PCB & Electronics Repair: Apply advanced soldering and electronic knowledge to repair faulty PCBs and internal inverter components.

• Battery Stewardship: Monitor battery health, manage charge controller settings, and troubleshoot discharge issues to maximize the lifespan of the storage bank.

3. Performance Optimization & Safety

• Efficiency Analysis: Use performance monitoring tools to analyze energy production vs. consumption and implement optimizations.

• Safety & Hazard Mitigation: Ensure all systems are equipped with proper breakers, surge protection, and earthing to prevent hazards and comply with electrical codes.

• Client Training: Act as a technical consultant, training end-users on system operations and basic preventive maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: OND / HND / B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in solar/inverter engineering.

• Electronic Skills: Strong knowledge of DC/AC circuits, soldering, and PCB-level repairs.

• Diagnostic Tools: High proficiency in using multimeters, clamp meters, and diagnostic software.
