Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on Network Installation & Field Technician to serve as the face of our connectivity services. In this role, you aren't just a cable installer; you are a technical problem-solver responsible for the final "mile" of the customer experience. You will be tasked with transforming site surveys into fully functional, high-speed network environments across fiber, wireless, and traditional broadband technologies.
If you are a disciplined technician who takes pride in clean, safety-compliant hardware setups and has the communication skills to translate complex network concepts for the average user, we want you on our field team.
Requirements:
1. Infrastructure Deployment & Site Optimization
Technical Setup: Install and configure the full stack of internet equipment, including routers, modems, fiber optics, antennas, and wireless links.
Site Intelligence: Conduct pre-installation site surveys and basic network assessments to identify the optimal hardware placement for maximum signal strength.
Quality & Safety: Ensure every installation meets rigorous company standards and electrical/structural safety codes.
2. Troubleshooting & Performance Restoration
Issue Resolution: Act as the first line of defense in troubleshooting hardware failures, signal interference, and connectivity drops.
Hardware Maintenance: Repair or replace faulty equipment and optimize existing network layouts (LAN/WAN) to improve throughput.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous job reports and service records to track equipment health and customer history.
3. Customer Advocacy & Education
Client Empowerment: Educate customers on how to use their new equipment, manage Wi-Fi settings, and perform basic self-troubleshooting.
Professional Service: Provide courteous, face-to-face support that reinforces the brand's reputation for reliability.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Proven track record as an Internet Installer, Network Technician, or in a similar field-based technical role.
Technical IQ: Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi 6, Fiber Optics, or Point-to-Point wireless links).
Tools of the Trade: Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools for mounting equipment and running cables.
Physical & Legal Requirements
Physicality: Must be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors or at heights (using ladders/harnesses) when required.
Licensing: A valid driver’s license is preferred.
Certification: Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Fiber Optic Association) are a distinct advantage.
