Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven HR Lead to anchor the people operations of a dynamic media company. With a workforce of 30 professionals, the HR Lead will be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle—from talent acquisition and performance management to compensation and facilities oversight. You will serve as a vital link between leadership and staff, ensuring that our human capital is motivated, compliant with Nigerian labor laws, and aligned with our corporate mission. The ideal candidate is an HR generalist with a strategic mindset who can build professional systems from the ground up while nurturing a creative and high-performance culture.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Talent & Performance Management
HR Architecture: Develop and implement HR strategies and systems that directly support the company’s business objectives and hiring needs.
Performance Culture: Design and oversee a performance appraisal system that moves beyond checklists to drive high performance and professional growth.
Competency Mapping: Assess organizational training needs and monitor developmental programs to ensure the team stays competitive in the fast-evolving media landscape.
2. Employee Relations & Total Rewards
Culture Stewardship: Act as a bridge between management and employees, proactively addressing grievances and nurturing a positive, inclusive work environment.
Compensation & Benefits: Maintain and optimize the company’s compensation plan and benefits program to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
Conflict Resolution: Utilize strategic thinking and active listening to resolve interpersonal issues and maintain high morale across all levels.
3. Compliance, Metrics & Facilities
Regulatory Governance: Ensure 100% compliance with Nigerian Labor Laws, regulatory filings, and HR risk management protocols.
Data-Driven HR: Utilize HR metrics and databases to provide leadership with actionable insights regarding turnover, engagement, and workforce planning.
Facilities Management: Oversee facilities services to ensure a safe, functional, and inspiring physical workspace for the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Experience & Education
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Certification: Full qualification in CIPM, HRCI, or SHRM is highly desirable.
Tenure: Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a proven track record in advisory roles.
Technical Competencies
Legal Mastery: In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, particularly those relevant to the media and creative sectors.
System Proficiency: Hands-on experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and digital databases.
Strategic Advisory: Proven ability to work closely with executive leadership to provide decision support on complex workforce issues.
