Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned HR & Administration Manager with a formidable background in Industrial Relations to lead our people operations and administrative functions. Operating within a unionized environment, you will be the strategic bridge between management and the workforce, ensuring operational harmony through expert negotiation and compliance. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle—from strategic workforce planning to facility management—while ensuring that our industrial relations remain stable and productive. This role requires a leader who can navigate the complexities of Nigerian labor laws and collective bargaining with finesse and authority.
Requirements:
1. Strategic HR & Performance Management
Policy Architecture: Develop and implement HR systems, manuals, and procedures that align with corporate objectives and industry standards.
Talent Lifecycle: Oversee rigorous recruitment, onboarding, and performance management cycles (KPIs/Appraisals) to ensure a high-performing workforce.
Engagement & Development: Drive organizational development and workforce planning to improve retention, productivity, and employee satisfaction.
2. Industrial Relations & Union Management
Union Diplomacy: Lead collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations and maintain proactive, positive relationships with union representatives to prevent work stoppages.
Dispute Resolution: Manage complex employee relations, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, and high-level conflict resolution.
Industrial Harmony: Ensure a stable work environment by anticipating labor issues and implementing proactive industrial relations strategies.
3. Administrative & Facilities Oversight
Operational Excellence: Supervise day-to-day administrative functions, including logistics, asset management, and office facility maintenance.
Support Supervision: Lead and mentor administrative staff to ensure maximum efficiency across all support functions.
Asset Management: Ensure the security and optimal utilization of company assets and logistics infrastructure.
4. Compliance & Reporting
Legal Stewardship: Ensure 100% compliance with the Nigerian Labour Act, industry-specific regulations, and statutory requirements.
Data-Driven Insights: Provide management with regular HR metrics, workforce analytics, and comprehensive administrative reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience & Industry Mastery
Total Tenure: Minimum of 8 years of HR experience, specifically within the Construction, Manufacturing, or Engineering sectors.
Union Expertise: At least 5 years of proven experience managing industrial relations and union negotiations.
Legal Knowledge: Mastery of Nigerian labor laws and current industrial court trends.
Core Competencies
Negotiation: Exceptional skills in collective bargaining and multi-stakeholder diplomacy.
Leadership: Ability to lead large, diverse teams across various sites/offices.
Integrity: Highly discreet with the ability to handle sensitive personnel and industrial issues with absolute professionalism.
