Job Description:
Greyfield Hotel & Apartments is seeking a meticulous and high-standard Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping and laundry operations. As the primary custodian of the hotel’s physical appeal, you will ensure that every guest room and public area meets our "zero-defect" cleanliness standards. You will manage the full department lifecycle—from recruiting and training staff to managing multi-million naira budgets for linens and cleaning supplies. This role requires a leader who is as comfortable auditing a budget as they are inspecting the "hospital corners" of a luxury suite.
Requirements:
1. Operational Leadership & Quality Control
Daily Supervision: Organize and coordinate the daily workflows of all housekeeping staff, ensuring every shift is adequately manned and briefed.
Rigorous Inspections: Personally inspect Guest Rooms, Public Areas, and Housekeeping Stores to ensure 100% compliance with brand aesthetics and hygiene standards.
SOP Governance: Establish and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning, chemical use, and room setups to drive staff efficiency and product longevity.
2. Inventory & Budgetary Management
Asset Stewardship: Maintain a regular inventory of furniture, high-quality linens, staff uniforms, and cleaning equipment.
Cost Control: Approve all supply requisitions and maintain "par stock" levels to ensure the department is never under-supplied while preventing financial waste.
Budgeting: Prepare the annual departmental budget and implement strict controls to ensure service delivery remains within financial targets.
3. People Management & Development
Training & Recruitment: Recruit and train new employees in specialized cleaning techniques and hospitality etiquette.
Performance Auditing: Evaluate staff performance for promotions or transfers and manage the annual vacation and duty rosters for a 24/7 operation.
Staff Motivation: Lead daily briefings to disseminate critical information and provide the counseling and motivation necessary to maintain high morale in a physically demanding department.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: Degree or Diploma in Institutional Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Proven Tenure: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 3 years in a senior supervisory or managerial role in a reputable hotel or luxury serviced apartment.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of fabric care, cleaning chemicals, and industrial laundry operations.
Core Competencies
Attention to Detail: An uncompromising eye for cleanliness and organization.
Managerial Courage: Ability to counsel, discipline, and mentor a large team to achieve peak performance.
Administrative Skill: Proficiency in maintaining accurate files, registers, and inventory logs.
