Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and technically proficient Director of Architectural Design to lead our design department. In this executive-level role, you will be the primary steward of our architectural identity, responsible for translating client visions into sustainable, high-impact structures. You will lead an elite team of architects through the entire design lifecycle—from initial schematic concepts to final detailed drawings—while ensuring every project is delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with global and local building codes. The ideal candidate is a master of both the "art" and the "business" of architecture.
Requirements:
1. Design Leadership & Conceptual Strategy
Creative Direction: Provide the overarching strategic vision for all architectural projects, ensuring that designs are innovative, functional, and aesthetically superior.
Concept Oversight: Develop and supervise architectural concepts and schematic designs, ensuring they align with client requirements and brand standards.
Technical Excellence: Review and approve all detailed drawings and design outputs to maintain the highest levels of quality and consistency.
2. Project Integration & Stakeholder Management
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in lockstep with Project Managers, Structural Engineers, and Contractors to ensure that design intent is preserved during the construction phase.
Client Engagement: Represent the organization at the highest level during design presentations, stakeholder meetings, and high-value client negotiations.
Regulatory Governance: Ensure 100% compliance with all building codes, zoning laws, and environmental sustainability standards.
3. Operational Management & Mentorship
Resource Orchestration: Manage design timelines, personnel allocation, and departmental budgets to maximize operational efficiency.
Talent Development: Act as a mentor and coach for junior architects, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the firm.
Innovation: Stay at the forefront of emerging design trends, BIM technologies, sustainable materials, and "Green Building" practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience & Technical Skills
Proven Tenure: Significant experience in architectural design, with a minimum of [X] years in a senior leadership or directorial capacity.
Licensing: Professional registration/licensure as an Architect is required.
Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, Rhino, and high-end visualization tools.
