Job Description:
Aggreko is seeking a visionary General Manager to pilot our Nigerian operations toward exponential growth. In a nation where energy reliability is the backbone of industrial and social progress, your mission is to position Aggreko as the premier provider of mobile, modular power, and energy solutions.
Reporting to the Africa Regional Leadership, you will take full P&L ownership of the Nigeria business. You will be responsible for navigating the complex local business context—bridging the gap between high-level government relations and boots-on-the-ground sales execution. We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader with a deep network in the Nigerian energy sector who can build a high-performing team and deliver industry-leading EBITDA performance.
Requirements:
1. Commercial Strategy & Go-To-Market Execution
Market Anticipation: Develop and execute agile go-to-market plans that anticipate shifts in the Nigerian energy landscape, ensuring Aggreko captures high-value segments.
Pipeline Acceleration: Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to drive sustainable revenue growth and market penetration.
EBITDA Governance: Drive daily performance to meet aggressive financial goals, focusing on revenue, working capital optimization, and fleet utilization.
2. External Diplomacy & Stakeholder Relations
Institutional Representation: Serve as the primary face of Aggreko to the Nigerian government, regulatory bodies, and major industrial institutions.
Key Account Engagement: Cultivate and maintain "C-suite" relationships with Tier-1 customers, ensuring high levels of trust and satisfaction.
Regulatory Navigation: Ensure the business operates in total alignment with local laws, cultural nuances, and Nigerian content requirements.
3. Leadership, Culture & Talent Development
High-Performance Culture: Instill the Aggreko values and leadership behaviors, fostering a culture of health, safety, and operational excellence.
Talent Orchestration: Manage the talent lifecycle—hiring, mentoring, and implementing credible succession plans to ensure the right capabilities are in place for future growth.
Regional Alignment: Ensure the Nigeria team operates in full cohesion with the broader Africa region goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Management Pedigree: Proven experience as a General Manager leading a comparable business with a documented track record of driving Revenue and EBITDA growth.
Energy Sector Expertise: Deep relevant experience in the energy sector, specifically in selling high-value solutions and services (e.g., power rental, cooling, or microgrids).
Local Intelligence: A strong existing network across Nigeria’s industrial and governmental landscape.
Sales Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead sales teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
