About Company:
Primero Transport Services Limited is Nigeria’s leading Bus Rapid Transit System that caters for Lagos State residents.
Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and analytically driven Financial Accountant to anchor the fiscal operations of our organization in Ikorodu. In a dynamic business environment, success is defined by "Reporting Fidelity",the ability to maintain crystal-clear financial records while ensuring 100% compliance with statutory regulations and internal controls. This role is designed for a "Numbers Architect" with 2–4 years of experience who can blend "Meticulous Bookkeeping" with the "Analytical Grit" required to manage payroll, tax remittances, and month-end closures.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Error Financial Reporting and Optimized Cash Management." You will be the primary steward of the general ledger: responsible for bank reconciliations, managing accounts payable/receivable, and preparing high-fidelity financial statements. If you possess "Audit-Ready Accuracy," proficiency in Accounting Software (ERP/SAGE/QuickBooks), and a deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws, we want you to drive our financial excellence.
Requirements:
1. General Ledger & Financial Reporting
Ledger Stewardship: Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are coded correctly and supported by appropriate documentation.
Period-End Orchestration: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing trial balances and high-fidelity financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Audit Readiness: Facilitate internal and external audit processes by providing organized schedules, reconciliations, and evidence for financial disclosures.
2. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Reconciliation Governance: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the "Source of Truth" between bank statements and internal accounting records.
Working Capital Oversight: Manage Accounts Receivable and Payable cycles, ensuring timely collections from clients and optimized payment schedules to vendors.
Budgetary Control: Monitor actual expenditures against approved budgets, identifying variances and providing management with early warnings on fiscal overruns.
3. Statutory Compliance & Tax Management
Regulatory Fidelity: Ensure 100% compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, including the timely filing and remittance of VAT, WHT, PAYE, and Company Income Tax.
Payroll Administration: Coordinate accurate and timely monthly payroll processing, ensuring all statutory deductions (Pension, NSITF, ITF) are calculated and remitted.
Asset Integrity: Maintain an up-to-date Fixed Asset Register, ensuring depreciation is correctly calculated and physical assets are periodically verified.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience in a financial accounting or control role.
Professional Path: Professional qualification (ICAN or ACCA) or being at the professional stage of the exams is a significant advantage.
Technical Mastery: High proficiency in MS Excel (Advanced formulas/Pivot Tables) and hands-on experience with accounting software like SAGE, QuickBooks, or SAP.
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Exceptional ability to reconcile complex accounts and identify discrepancies.
Ethical Standard: High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment in handling sensitive financial data.
Detail Orientation: A "Zero-Error" mindset when it comes to data entry and financial reporting.
