Job Description:
We are seeking a technically sophisticated and analytically rigorous Senior Finance Associate to anchor the financial engine of the Black Pelican Group. In a diversified lifestyle solutions brand, success is defined by "Fiscal Resilience", the ability to consolidate complex group accounts, optimize liquidity, and maintain high-fidelity reporting standards that inform strategic expansion. This role is designed for a "Finance Leader" with 8+ years of experience and a mandatory ICAN/ACCA certification who can blend "IFRS Technical Mastery" with the "Operational Grit" required to enforce group-wide financial controls.
Your mission is to ensure "Absolute Financial Integrity and Strategic Data Intelligence." You will be a pillar of the finance function: responsible for group-level consolidation, treasury management, and ensuring that our financial reporting systems are optimized for operational efficiency. If you possess "Strategic Acumen," a background in Group Financial Management, and a commitment to people-focused excellence, we want you to drive our financial governance.
Requirements:
1. Group Reporting & Analytical Intelligence
Consolidation Leadership: Coordinate and consolidate group financial accounts, ensuring every entity aligns with IFRS reporting standards and applicable accounting policies.
FP&A Orchestration: Support the architecture of monthly budgets and cash flow projections, providing "Deep-Dive" variance analysis and performance insights for senior management.
Management Reporting: Deliver value-added management reports that translate raw financial data into strategic narratives for executive decision-making.
2. Treasury, Liquidity & Systems Governance
Treasury Stewardship: Manage the group’s fund flow and liquidity planning, providing high-frequency updates on the financial position to ensure operational continuity.
Systems Architecture: Periodically review and optimize financial reporting systems (ERP/Accounting software) to enhance data accuracy and tracking capabilities.
Reconciliation Mastery: Oversee general ledger activities and bank reconciliations, establishing a "Zero-Error" standard for sub-ledger accuracy.
3. Financial Controls & Compliance Stewardship
Regulatory Governance: Ensure 100% compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and statutory requirements, including the accurate remittance of VAT, WHT, and PAYE.
Control Enforcement: Establish and enforce robust control mechanisms across purchase and sales ledgers to prevent financial leakage and ensure transparency.
Audit & Policy Support: Lead the implementation of sound financial policies and procedures, acting as a primary liaison for internal and external reporting inquiries.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related technical discipline.
Certification: Chartered Accountant status (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive professional experience in accounting or finance roles.
Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a sound understanding of IFRS reporting standards.
Core Competencies
Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of corporate reporting and high-level financial planning.
Analytical Prowess: Strong problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail in data management.
