Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity and analytically sharp Accountant to anchor the financial operations of Fhemfel Homes. In the capital-intensive real estate industry, success is defined by "Fiscal Fidelity", the ability to maintain meticulous records of project expenditures while navigating the complexities of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory remittances. This role is designed for a "Financial Steward" with 4–5 years of experience who can blend "Advanced Reporting" with the "Operational Grit" required to manage cash flows and ensure audit-readiness.
Your mission is to ensure "Optimal Financial Transparency and Absolute Regulatory Compliance." You will be the primary guardian of our financial ledger: responsible for daily accounting entries, tax optimization (PAYE, VAT, WHT), and providing management with the data-driven insights necessary for strategic expansion. If you possess "Numerical Precision," mastery of QuickBooks, and a commitment to internal controls, we want you to drive our excellence.
Requirements:
1. Ledger Stewardship & Financial Architecture
Full-Cycle Accounting: Maintain and reconcile the company’s "Source of Truth" by managing daily entries for receipts, payments, invoices, and journals with 100% accuracy.
Statement Governance: Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing a clear window into the company's profitability and asset health.
Cash Flow Orchestration: Monitor daily cash flow and liquidity to ensure that operational expenditures remain strictly aligned with approved project budgets.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Tax Governance
Statutory Remittance: Lead the timely and accurate remittance of statutory deductions, ensuring full compliance with PAYE, VAT, and WHT regulations to mitigate legal risks.
Audit Leadership: Support both internal and external audit processes by maintaining a highly organized, transparent filing system and providing high-fidelity documentation upon request.
Payroll Synergy: Collaborate with the HR Department to ensure seamless and accurate payroll processing, adhering to all local labor and tax laws.
3. Financial Planning & Risk Mitigation
Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist the leadership team in financial planning and forecasting, utilizing historical data to set realistic budgets for new real estate developments.
Payable/Receivable Integrity: Manage vendor and client reconciliations with precision, ensuring that accounts payable and receivable cycles are optimized for cash flow health.
Internal Control Enforcement: Implement and monitor strict financial policies and controls to prevent mismanagement and ensure the highest standards of integrity.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 4–5 years of core accounting experience (Experience in Real Estate or Construction is highly preferred).
Technical Mastery: High proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Certification: Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is a significant competitive advantage.
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic summaries for management.
Compliance Literacy: Deep understanding of Nigerian tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
Organizational Mastery: Exceptional time management skills with the ability to handle high-volume transactions under tight deadlines.
