Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Finance Associate to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This is a strategic role for a professional who views "numbers" as a tool for driving financial excellence and supporting high-stakes decision-making.
As a Finance Associate, you will be a guardian of our fiscal integrity. You will manage the intersection of daily financial operations and complex regulatory compliance, ensuring our reporting meets IFRS standards while maintaining flawless relationships with bodies like the FIRS and CAC. If you are a part-qualified or chartered accountant with a passion for process automation and a "Second Class Upper" pedigree, we want you to help lead our finance function.
Requirements:
1. Financial Architecture & Reporting
Advanced Analytics: Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and reports that provide actionable insights to business leaders.
Closing Mastery: Drive the month-end and year-end closing processes with a focus on precision and temporal discipline.
Ledger Governance: Maintain the general ledger and execute complex account reconciliations to ensure a clean financial baseline.
2. Regulatory & Statutory Stewardship
Nigerian Compliance: Ensure all operations align strictly with Nigerian accounting standards and IFRS requirements.
Tax & Statutory Filings: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of tax filings (FIRS) and statutory documentation (CAC), acting as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies.
Audit Leadership: Support both internal and external audits, ensuring that our records are perpetually audit-ready and compliant with local tax laws.
3. Strategic Planning & Process Innovation
Budgetary Collaboration: Support budgeting and financial planning activities, providing the data needed for long-term strategic forecasting.
Digital Transformation: Contribute to the automation of the finance function, leveraging software (Sage, SAP, QuickBooks) to reduce manual errors and increase speed.
Cross-Functional Insight: Partner with non-finance teams to provide technical recommendations that improve departmental ROI.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Minimum Second Class Upper).
Experience: 2–4 years of post-qualification experience in a rigorous accounting or finance role.
Certification: ACA, ACCA, or ICAN qualification (Chartered) preferred; Part-qualified (Intermediate level) will be considered.
Technical IQ
Regulatory Mastery: Deep understanding of IFRS, Nigerian Tax Laws, and FIRS/CAC regulations.
Software Mastery: High proficiency in advanced MS Excel and enterprise accounting software (Sage, SAP, QuickBooks).
Analytical Grit: Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to 100% data accuracy.
