Job Description:
TAG Energy is seeking a highly analytical and leadership-oriented Accountant to join our integrated oilfield services team. In the fast-paced energy sector, financial precision is the backbone of operational success. You will take full ownership of our financial ecosystem—from managing complex QuickBooks workflows to ensuring 100% compliance with Nigerian statutory remittances. Requirements:
1. Statutory Compliance & Payroll Governance
Regulatory Fidelity: Ensure the timely and accurate payment of all statutory remittances (WHT, VAT, PAYE, etc.) to avoid penalties and maintain corporate standing.
Payroll Stewardship: Manage the end-to-end salary preparation and disbursement process, ensuring 100% reliability on due dates.
Tax Law Alignment: Maintain an in-depth understanding of current Nigerian tax laws and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
2. Advanced Financial Control & Reconciliation
Ledger Mastery: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable with meticulous attention to detail.
Balance Sheet Integrity: Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies or audit findings.
Audit Readiness: Proactively assist with annual audit preparations, ensuring all documentation is organized, transparent, and compliant.
3. Strategic Reporting & System Development
Management Insight: Summarize and prepare high-level financial status reports, including Profit & Loss statements and cash flow analysis, for executive review.
Process Innovation: Contribute to the development or amendment of accounting systems and programs to improve departmental efficiency.
Revenue Monitoring: Oversee the timely submission of invoices to clients to optimize the company's cash flow cycle.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas or integrated services sector.
Certification: Relevant professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or CMA are highly preferred.
Technical Stack
QuickBooks Expert: Hands-on, in-depth experience in the QuickBooks accounting software package is mandatory.
Excel Power User: Proficiency in advanced MS Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex financial modeling.
Analytical Grit: Strong ability to investigate non-compliance issues and resolve account discrepancies proactively.
Core Competencies
Leadership: Ability to mentor team members and lead by example in matters of ethics and confidentiality.
Communication: Effective presentation skills to explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
Locality: Must be a resident of Lekki/Ajah or its immediate environs.
