Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity, detail-oriented Lead Cashier to manage the financial front-end of our 24-hour restaurant. In a round-the-clock environment, the cashier is the anchor of operational continuity. You will be responsible for far more than just processing payments; you will manage the precision of our POS data, ensure seamless shift handovers, and act as a primary guardian of customer satisfaction. Requirements:
1. Revenue Integrity & Transaction Management
Omni-Channel Payments: Expertly process transactions across cash, debit cards, and mobile transfers, ensuring 100% accuracy in change issuance and digital confirmations.
Order Governance: Input guest orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system with high precision, ensuring that special dietary modifications are flagged instantly for the kitchen.
Speed of Service: Maintain a high-velocity workflow to minimize guest wait times during peak dining hours without compromising data accuracy.
2. Fiscal Discipline & Shift Management
Cash Drawer Stewardship: Conduct rigorous "blind counts" at the start and end of every shift. Reconcile daily cash receipts against system sales to identify and resolve discrepancies immediately.
Audit & Documentation: Organize and archive all cashier books, receipts, and financial documents to ensure a permanent "audit-ready" state.
Night Shift Continuity: For night rotation, ensure the "End of Day" system processing is completed accurately to refresh the POS for the new business day.
3. Guest Experience & Station Maintenance
Front-Line Diplomacy: Greet guests warmly, provide expert knowledge on menu promotions, and resolve complaints with professional poise.
Sanitation & Organization: Maintain a pristine, clutter-free cashier station, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and stationery (receipt paper, etc.) is fully stocked.
Inventory Alerts: Monitor front-of-house supplies and notify management proactively when stocks of condiments or consumables reach reorder points.
Qualifications and Skills:
Academic & Professional Foundation
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a high-volume cashiering or retail role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
Proximity: Residency within close proximity to Awolowo Road/Way is highly preferred due to the 24-hour nature of the shifts.
Core Competencies
Numerical Precision: Exceptional ability to handle cash and reconcile accounts under pressure.
Technical Savvy: Advanced proficiency in operating modern POS systems and digital payment terminals.
Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work a rotating schedule including Morning, Afternoon, and Night shifts, as well as weekends.
Communication: Clear, polite, and persuasive verbal communication skills.
