You will move beyond basic filing to manage high-stakes state audits, develop annual tax payment roadmaps, and maintain an airtight documentation system for our retail outlets. If you have a deep understanding of the FIRS and SIRS frameworks and thrive in a role that requires both analytical rigor and effective stakeholder diplomacy, we want to hear from you.
Requirements:

State Tax Mastery: Constantly collect, review, and interpret local state tax laws to ensure the company adapts to new regulations across all operating regions.
Annual Planning: Design and implement comprehensive annual tax payment plans to ensure liquidity for liabilities and prevent late-payment penalties.
Statutory Governance: Ensure absolute compliance with VAT, WHT, CIT, and PAYE requirements, maintaining the organization’s "Good Standing" with tax authorities.
2. Audit Management & Liaison
Audit Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for selected state government audits, preparing all necessary schedules and resolving queries with professional tact.
Authority Liaison: Build and maintain professional relationships with tax officials and external auditors to facilitate smooth compliance cycles.
Problem Resolution: Proactively identify potential tax risks and propose corrective measures to mitigate future audit exposures.
3. Documentation & Data Integrity
File Management: Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready tax files, including the systematic gathering of tax vouchers and receipts from various store locations.
Reporting Excellence: Utilize Microsoft Excel to build tax computation models that provide management with clear visibility into tax expenses and obligations.
Qualifications and Skills:

Tenure: Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in a dedicated tax or finance-related role.
Knowledge Base: Strong, up-to-date knowledge of the Finance Act and Nigerian tax regulations.
