Job Description:
- The Account Officer will support the financial and operational functions of the bank by ensuring accurate transaction processing, account management, reconciliation, and loan administration within a fintech-enabled banking environment.
- The role requires strong financial discipline, operational efficiency, and the ability to work with digital banking platforms and core banking systems.
- The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting loan portfolio administration, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering seamless account services across digital and traditional channels.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Account Management:
- Maintain and manage customer accounts including savings, loan, and digital wallet accounts within the bank’s core banking platform.
- Process account opening documentation and ensure full compliance with KYC and AML regulatory requirements.
- Perform daily reconciliation of transactions across digital channels, internal systems, and payment platforms.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and customer records.
Loan Administration & Monitoring:
- Support loan processing activities including documentation verification and disbursement preparation.
- Monitor loan repayment schedules and follow up on overdue repayments.
- Assist in maintaining accurate loan portfolio records within the loan management system.
- Work closely with credit and risk teams to flag potential loan delinquencies.
Compliance & Financial Control:
- Ensure strict adherence to internal financial controls and regulatory guidelines.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements and audit documentation.
- Identify discrepancies and escalate financial irregularities where necessary.
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping in line with regulatory expectations.
Customer Support:
- Provide prompt support for customer account inquiries and transaction-related issues.
- Resolve discrepancies related to account balances, payments, or transfers.
- Ensure a high level of service delivery across digital and branch banking channels.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Transaction accuracy rate.
- Reconciliation turnaround time.
- Loan repayment monitoring effectiveness.
- Compliance with financial reporting timelines.
- Customer service response time for account-related issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years experience in accounting, banking operations, or fintech financial management.
- Experience working with core banking systems or fintech financial platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of financial reconciliation and transaction controls.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and professionalism.
