About Company:
Incorporated in 1990, International Energy Services Limited (IESL) is a pan-African energy services company dedicated to delivering top-tier engineering and technical support services within the energy sector. Our operations extend beyond Nigeria to encompass other African countries, including Ghana, Mozambique, and Equatorial Guinea.
Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategically sharp Human Resources Manager with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience to lead our people operations. In the Oil & Gas industry, success is defined by "Human Capital Optimization", the ability to align a highly technical workforce with rigid safety, compliance, and productivity standards. This role is designed for a "Strategic People Partner" who can blend "Industrial Relations Expertise" with the "Analytical Rigor" required to drive organizational transformation and high-performance cultures.
Your mission is to ensure "Workforce Readiness and Absolute Regulatory Governance." You will be the primary steward of the employee lifecycle: responsible for talent sovereignty, succession architecture, and complex compensation structures. If you possess "Advanced Leadership Grit," a deep understanding of Nigerian Labor Laws (and Oil & Gas specific regulations), and a track record of being a "Trusted Advisor" to C-Suite leadership, we want you to anchor our organizational excellence.
Requirements:
1. Talent Sovereignty & Workforce Architecture
Strategic Talent Acquisition: Develop high-fidelity sourcing strategies, including partnerships with global recruitment agencies and technical institutions, to secure "Industry-Ready" talent for specialized Oil & Gas roles.
Workforce Intelligence: Lead proactive workforce planning sessions with department heads to anticipate resource demands, ensuring the organization is neither overstaffed nor capacity-constrained.
Succession Engineering: Build and manage a robust succession pipeline for critical technical and leadership roles to ensure business continuity in a high-turnover industry.
2. Performance Culture & Capability Engineering
Performance Governance: Drive a culture of ownership where line managers and employees are empowered to meet and exceed KPIs through rigid adherence to the Performance Management cycle.
Capability Upskilling: Train and mentor Line Managers on performance coaching and career conversations, ensuring the delivery of a compelling Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
Mediation & Resolution: Act as the final point of internal resolution for performance-related disputes, ensuring fairness while maintaining high organizational standards.
3. Compensation, Compliance & Risk Governance
Total Rewards Architecture: Oversee the design and implementation of competitive compensation and benefits programs that reflect the specialized nature of the Oil & Gas sector.
Regulatory Sovereignty: Lead the detection and resolution of any statutory or regulatory compliance breaches, maintaining "Perpetual Audit Readiness" regarding labor laws and tax requirements.
Payroll Integrity: Ensure 100% accuracy and timeliness in the payroll function, collaborating with finance to maintain precise reconciliation and tax reporting.
4. Change Leadership & Engagement Diagnostic
Change Sovereignty: Act as the lead "Change Champion" for business transformation, guiding the workforce through structural shifts with minimal disruption to productivity.
Engagement Forensics: Lead diagnostic processes to measure employee sentiment and partner with leadership to implement plans that shift the needle on the employee experience.
Data-Driven Insights: Connect HR metrics with business data to provide the Head of Human Capital and Project Director with actionable insights for high-level decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: First degree in Social Sciences, HR Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Psychology. A Master’s degree is a distinct advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years post-NYSC experience, with at least 8 years in a managerial role within the Oil & Gas sector.
Professional Certification: Active membership in CIPMN, CIPD, or SHRM is a strong preference and vital for this level of leadership.
Core Competencies
Strategic Thinking: Ability to execute HR strategies that align with complex business models in high-pressure industrial environments.
Data Intelligence: Proficient in using people analytics to measure strategy effectiveness and ROI.
Diplomatic Grit: Expertise in addressing complex employee relations issues and conflict resolution utilizing sound judgment and labor law knowledge.
