AB Microfinance Bank is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to design, implement, and maintain secure and efficient database systems that support the bank’s operations and reporting infrastructure. The role involves ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, supporting analytics, and managing database security in line with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate with technical and operational teams to deliver reliable data solutions in a fast-paced financial services environment.
Job Description:
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical database designs aligned with application requirements.
Install, configure, test, and maintain database management systems and data-handling solutions.
Monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize systems for efficiency and scalability.
Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with regulatory and data protection standards.
Create complex queries and data extraction processes to support reporting and analytics.
Design and manage backup, recovery, storage, and archiving procedures.
Control user access permissions, roles, and privileges across database environments.
Maintain database documentation, standards, and data dictionaries.
Support dashboards, enterprise reporting systems, and stakeholder data requests.
Collaborate with technical and operational teams to maintain system reliability.
Train internal users on proper data entry, usage, and extraction practices.
Centralize and streamline reporting processes to improve service delivery.
Requirements:
B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum of four (4) years’ hands-on experience in a Database Administration role.
Strong knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (SQL 2012+), including performance tuning and analytics.
Experience with PL/SQL development (packages, procedures, triggers, and functions).
Expertise in designing partitioned/non-partitioned tables, indexes, and storage optimization models.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and Office tools.
Experience developing logical and physical data models using data modeling tools.
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
Up-to-date knowledge of data protection regulations and database security practices.
Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
