Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join Sun King. In this role, you will be the architect of our data infrastructure, building the robust pipelines and scalable solutions that transform raw data into a strategic asset. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between complex engineering and actionable business intelligence, ensuring our data is reliable, accurate, and accessible to decision-makers across the globe. Requirements:

• ETL/ELT Architecture: Design and implement modern data architectures using cloud-based technologies.

• Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to process and load data for BI and application requirements, including complex integrations via REST APIs.

• Database Management: Administer and optimize databases to ensure peak performance, high availability, and efficient storage management.

• BI Collaboration: Work closely with the BI team to optimize data modeling, schema design, and preprocessing to enhance the end-user experience.

• Real-Time Engineering: Design and implement real-time data pipelines for critical business workflows.

• Cost Optimization: Proactively monitor storage and processing costs, implementing solutions to maximize efficiency.

• Reliability Engineering: Develop robust alerting systems to identify and resolve data discrepancies before they impact business outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: HND or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Data Engineer.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Core Languages: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Data Stack: Hands-on experience with Spark, PySpark, and AWS EC2.

  • Specialized Tools: Practical experience with AWS Glue, NoSQL databases, and job orchestration using Airflow.
