Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our team in Kano. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate is a technical problem-solver who can handle end-to-end electrical projects, from initial installation and load management to routine maintenance and compliance audits. If you have a solid academic background in electrical engineering and a passion for industrial systems, we want you to help us power our operations in the North.
Requirements:
System Maintenance & Installation: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment, including transformers, generators, power distribution boards, and control systems.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Develop and execute rigorous maintenance schedules for all electrical infrastructure to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Act as the first point of response for electrical failures. Diagnose faults, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement effective, long-term repair solutions.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical work adheres to local safety regulations and international industry standards. Enforce safety protocols (e.g., LOTO procedures) to protect personnel and equipment.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all electrical modifications, maintenance logs, and spare parts inventory. Prepare regular reports on energy consumption, equipment performance, and project status.
Project Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering departments and contractors to support facility upgrades, new machinery installations, and infrastructural improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience: Proven experience in electrical maintenance, industrial installations, or power distribution systems.
