Job Description:
Lumos Nigeria is seeking a high-performing Area Manager to lead our sales and operations across the South-South region. Your primary mission will be to drive the adoption of clean, affordable solar energy solutions in both on-grid and off-grid communities. You will be responsible for the entire customer lifecycle from acquisition and installation to long-term repayment and service adoption.
This role requires a strategic leader who can manage a diverse territory team, optimize inventory, and ensure rigorous repayment collection while expanding our footprint in one of Nigeria’s most dynamic regions.
Requirements:
Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth
Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute state-specific business plans to achieve customer acquisition and repayment targets.
Target Management: Communiate clear sales goals to Territory Managers and Lumos Community Partners (LCP), tracking daily and monthly performance against sets targets.
Market Expansion: Identify and formulate strategies to drive product distribution across active community partnerships.
Promotion: Lead sales promotion activities within assigned budgets to increase brand visibility and premium subscriptions.
Operational Excellence & Financial Rigor
Repayment Oversight: Ensure prompt payment from customers and implement proactive measures to minimize bad debt and financial risk.
Process Management: Oversee the end-to-end sales process, including product installation, activation, and the adoption of Lumos digital services.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive sales reports and forecasts for the VP of Community Business, identifying trends to optimize service levels.
Team Development & Capability Building
People Management: Build and lead a high-performing territory team through coaching, training, and accountability frameworks.
Synergy: Coordinate state sales activities to ensure seamless collaboration with other departments and external partners.
Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator to resolve operational conflicts and maintain team morale under high-pressure scenarios.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: * Bachelor’s Degree in Management or related Social Sciences.
An MBA is considered a significant additional advantage.
Experience: * 8–10 years of varied experience in Sales & Marketing.
At least 4 years at a middle-management level with direct supervisory experience.
Industry Background: Proven experience in the Power/Energy, Telecom, or FMCG industries is highly desirable.
Experience in Multi-level Marketing (MLM) or distributor account management is an added advantage.
Technical Skills: * Proficiency in sales forecasting, tracking, and reporting tools.
Strong computer and IT appreciation.

Strategic Planning: Ability to handle planning, budgeting, and opportunity management simultaneously.
Communication: Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills.
