Job Description:

We are seeking a technically proficient and safety-conscious Solar Installation & Systems Engineer to join our renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of solar energy deployments—from performing site-specific engineering assessments to the physical installation and commissioning of advanced power systems. You will handle sensitive equipment, including high-capacity inverters, lithium/lead-acid batteries, and charge controllers, ensuring all wiring meets rigorous technical standards. Beyond installation, you will serve as a technical consultant to our clients, diagnosing performance issues and educating users on maximizing system efficiency.

Requirements:

1. Engineering Analysis & Site Deployment

  • Technical Assessment: Perform site-specific engineering assessments to determine load requirements, structural integrity, and optimal panel orientation for maximum solar yield.

  • System Installation: Lead the physical installation of solar arrays, inverters, battery banks, and charge controllers across diverse residential and industrial environments.

  • Safety & Standards: Execute precise electrical wiring and grounding, adhering strictly to safety protocols and international electrical standards.

2. Maintenance, Diagnostics & Repair

  • Performance Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex system failures, including shading issues, wiring faults, and component degradation.

  • Operational Records: Maintain comprehensive documentation of installation procedures, maintenance logs, and site-specific system configurations.

  • Technology Evolution: Stay updated with emerging PV technologies, such as bifacial modules and hybrid smart inverters, to incorporate best practices into current projects.

3. Client Technical Support

  • User Education: Provide clear, detailed technical walkthroughs to clients, ensuring they understand system monitoring, load management, and safety procedures.

  • Customer Service: Act as the primary technical point of contact during the post-installation phase to ensure long-term system performance and client satisfaction.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Qualifications

  • Academic: OND, HND, or B.Eng. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Certifications: Professional certification in PV Installation (e.g., CORE, NABCEP, or equivalent) is a significant advantage.

  • Experience: Proven track record as a Solar Installer or Systems Technician within the energy sector.

Physical & Mental Competencies

  • Field Readiness: Ability to work at heights, on various roof types, and in varying weather conditions.

  • Technical Savvy: Strong working knowledge of power tools, multimeters, and specialized solar testing machinery.

  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail in electrical schematics.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between complex engineering and client understanding.
