Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber, result-driven Workshop Supervisor to lead our fleet maintenance operations. This role is designed for a technical expert with a "hands-on" background in HOWO trucks and a strategic mindset for workshop efficiency. You will be responsible for transforming our workshop into a center of excellence by implementing rigorous preventive maintenance systems, enforcing ISO/SON standards, and utilizing data analytics to reduce downtime. The ideal candidate is a disciplined leader who can manage a diverse team of technicians while maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for safety breaches and sub-standard repairs.

Requirements:

1. Fleet Engineering & Maintenance Systems

• HOWO Brand Mastery: Lead complex diagnostics, repairs, and part-identifications specifically for HOWO heavy-duty trucks.

• Maintenance Architecture: Implement and manage a 3-tier maintenance system: Predictive, Preventive, and Corrective, to ensure maximum fleet availability.

• Technical Interpretation: Read, interpret, and translate technical drawings and manuals into actionable instructions for the workshop floor.

2. Operational Excellence & Data Integrity

• Data-Driven Management: Monitor fleet performance and breakdown trends using Excel and maintenance logs to provide technical reports and recommendations to management.

• ISO & SON Compliance: Ensure all workshop activities and parts procurement align with ISO quality standards and SON (Standards Organisation of Nigeria) regulations.

• Inventory & Cost Control: Supervise spare parts control and job estimation to minimize costs and prevent inventory shrinkage.

3. Leadership, Safety & Productivity

• Team Supervision: Plan, schedule, and evaluate the work of technicians and artisans, ensuring high productivity and quality control.

• HSE Governance: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices within the workshop to maintain a safe working environment.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a bridge between management, drivers, and suppliers to ensure smooth communication and timely job delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

Academic & Professional Background

• Academic: HND or B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Tenure: 5–10 years of proven experience as a Workshop Manager or Senior Supervisor.

• Brand Specialization: Mandatory hands-on experience with HOWO trucks (diagnostics and parts).

Core Competencies

• Analytical Skills: Strong ability in data management, analysis, and technical reporting.

• Leadership: Ability to enforce discipline, drive productivity, and meet revenue/target metrics.

• Technical Literacy: Proficiency in maintenance logs, reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.

• Resilience: Ability to work under high pressure, meet deadlines, and remain proactive in problem-solving.
