Job Description:

We are seeking a disciplined and technically proficient Workshop Supervisor to lead our day-to-day service operations. In this role, you will be the bridge between customer requirements and technical execution, ensuring that our workshop operates at peak efficiency. Your mission is to oversee a team of technicians, manage complex job schedules, and enforce rigorous quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can diagnose technical bottlenecks, mentor junior staff, and maintain an organized, safe, and highly productive environment that minimizes vehicle downtime.

Requirements:

1. Workflow Orchestration & Staff Leadership

  • Dynamic Scheduling: Allocate work across junior, mid-level, and senior technicians based on skill level and job complexity to meet daily service targets.

  • Technical Mentorship: Act as a lead subject matter expert, training and evaluating technicians to enhance the overall skill level of the shop floor.

  • Performance Oversight: Monitor labor hours and job completion rates to ensure the team is operating at maximum throughput.

2. Quality Control & Safety Governance

  • Rigorous Inspection: Conduct regular floor inspections to identify underlying vehicle issues and confirm that every repair meets the company’s "Gold Standard" before release.

  • Safety Enforcement: Maintain 100% compliance with workshop safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, equipment handling, and workspace cleanliness.

  • Process Optimization: Implement lean workshop processes to reduce turnaround time and eliminate redundant steps in the repair cycle.

3. Inventory & Administrative Management

  • Parts & Tooling Control: Coordinate with the storekeeper to monitor inventory levels of spare parts and consumables, ensuring tools are maintained and calibrated.

  • Record Integrity: Maintain accurate digital and physical records of jobs, parts utilization, and labor costs for management reporting.

  • Customer Liaison: Act as a professional point of contact for technical queries, translating complex repair needs into clear status updates for customers and management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Tenure: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive workshop, with at least 2 years in a dedicated supervisory or lead hand role.

  • Technical Mastery: Strong, up-to-date knowledge of modern vehicle repair, diagnostic tools, and automotive electrical systems.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage diverse teams and resolve conflicts in a high-pressure environment.
