About Company:
We're a company of builders. Of pioneers. It's our job to make bold bets, and we get our energy from inventing on behalf of customers. Here are just some of the innovations pioneered by Amazon, and we're always looking for the next one.
Job Description:
As a Partner Development Manager (PDM) at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will be the primary architect of our partner ecosystem across Sub-Saharan Africa. Your mission is to build mindshare and drive the mass adoption of AWS cloud services by empowering strategic business partners and enterprise customers.
This role sits at the intersection of high-level business strategy and tactical sales execution. You must possess the executive presence to engage at the CXO level and the technical sales fluency to collaborate with field reps and enterprise architects. If you are a strategic thinker who can navigate complex cloud challenges and deliver top-line revenue growth in markets like Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Zimbabwe, we want you to lead our expansion.
Requirements:
1. Ecosystem Strategy & Regional Mastery
Holistic Market View: Maintain a deep understanding of the partner landscape across West, East, and Central Africa to identify high-potential growth opportunities.
Strategic Alignment: Advise commercial sales teams on the strategic value of the partner network, ensuring the right partners are matched with the right customer needs to drive successful outcomes.
Footprint Expansion: Scale the AWS footprint by driving new customer engagements through partners, focusing on high-value business outcomes rather than just technical migrations.
2. Sales Integration & Deal Execution
Trusted Advisory: Act as an integral member of the sales team, owning deal execution alongside partners and coaching them on AWS best practices.
Program Levering: Maximize the use of AWS Partner Programs (MAP, ISV Accelerate, etc.) to de-risk migrations and accelerate the sales cycle.
Quota Leadership: Consistently exceed revenue quotas and key performance metrics through rigorous pipeline management and partner enablement.
3. Executive Relationship Management
CXO Engagement: Build and convey compelling value propositions to C-level executives, aligning cloud transformation with their long-term corporate vision.
Complex Negotiations: Lead the identification, negotiation, and execution of complex business and legal agreements.
Data-Driven Leadership: Interpret market data and internal performance metrics to make proactive business recommendations for regional growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
Basic Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Go-To-Market (GTM), Business Development, or Sales, with a specific focus on enterprise software or cloud applications.
Contract Mastery: 5+ years of experience developing, negotiating, and executing high-value business agreements.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
Communication: Proven ability to present complex technical and financial concepts to both technical and non-technical executive audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Analytical Depth: Experience interpreting complex datasets to drive regional business strategy.
Legal Literacy: High proficiency in identifying and negotiating complex legal and service-level agreements.
Regional Context: Deep familiarity with the business environments of Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and Zimbabwe.
