Gwarimapa, Abuja, Nigeria | Posted on 09/03/2026

About Company:

MKK Medical and Diagnostic Center is a healthcare facility and diagnostic laboratory located in Gwarinpa, Abuja, Nigeria. It provides a range of medical diagnostic services with a focus on early detection and quality patient care.

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and meticulous Medical Laboratory Technician to join our diagnostic team in Gwarimpa. In clinical healthcare, success is defined by "Diagnostic Fidelity", the ability to process biological specimens with absolute accuracy to ensure life-saving medical decisions. This role is designed for a "Laboratory Steward" with 1–3 years of experience who can blend "Technical Grit" (handling hematology, chemistry, and microbiology) with the "Regulatory Discipline" required by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).

Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Error Test Results and Clinical Safety Compliance." You will be the engine of our laboratory operations: responsible for specimen integrity, high-fidelity testing, and the maintenance of complex analytical equipment. If you possess "Analytical Precision," a valid MLSCN practicing license, and a commitment to ethical healthcare, we want you to drive our diagnostic excellence.

Requirements:

1. Specimen Governance & Analytical Testing

  • Pre-Analytical Accuracy: Collect, label, and process patient specimens with rigorous attention to detail to prevent pre-analytical errors.

  • Multidisciplinary Testing: Perform routine and specialized tests across Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, and Microbiology, ensuring that every result is reproducible and accurate.

  • Documentation & Results: Ensure meticulous documentation of results and maintain clear, professional communication with pathologists and clinicians.

2. Quality Control & Equipment Stewardship

  • Technical Maintenance: Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, ensuring all devices are calibrated and functioning within manufacturer specifications.

  • Quality Assurance (QA): Implement and monitor quality control protocols to validate test accuracy and identify potential system deviations before they affect patient results.

  • Supply Chain Support: Assist in the inventory management of laboratory reagents and supplies to ensure uninterrupted testing services.

3. Safety, Ethics & Compliance

  • Biosafety Management: Adhere strictly to laboratory safety and hygiene standards, ensuring the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe disposal of biohazardous waste.

  • Ethical Standards: Maintain the highest level of patient confidentiality and professional ethics in line with MLSCN guidelines.

  • Interdisciplinary Synergy: Collaborate effectively with the broader healthcare team to ensure a seamless patient experience and rapid turnaround times for critical results.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: OND, HND, or BMLS in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.

  • Licensing: Must possess a valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).

  • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant work experience (Experience in a diagnostic center is a significant advantage).

Core Competencies

  • Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of modern laboratory procedures and automated equipment operation.

  • Analytical Grit: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tests simultaneously.

  • Communication: Good interpersonal skills to coordinate with medical staff and provide clear information to patients.
