Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Intensive Care Nurse to join our critical care team in Ikeja. In the ICU, every second counts; we need a professional who combines advanced clinical expertise with the steady hand required to manage patients in life-threatening conditions.

As an ICU Nurse at Genesis Hospital, you will be the primary guardian of our most vulnerable patients. You will operate at the peak of nursing practice, utilizing modern medical technology to monitor, stabilize, and advocate for patients requiring constant, high-intensity care. Requirements:

1. Advanced Hemodynamic & Vital Monitoring

• Continuous Vigilance: Provide direct, one-on-one or high-ratio care to critically ill patients, maintaining constant oversight of physiological changes.

• Technological Mastery: Operate and interpret data from modern medical equipment, including mechanical ventilators, multi-parameter monitors, and infusion pumps.

• Rapid Response: Swiftly identify and act upon subtle changes in patient condition, initiating emergency protocols and life-saving interventions when necessary.

2. Critical Care Interventions & Medication

• Advanced Therapeutics: Administer complex medications, including titrating vasoactive drips, sedatives, and paralytics, with precision and adherence to safety protocols.

• Procedure Assistance: Collaborate with intensivists and surgeons during bedside procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and chest tube placement.

• Plan Implementation: Work as a core member of the multidisciplinary medical team to execute and adjust comprehensive treatment plans in real-time.

3. Patient Advocacy & Family Education

• Compassionate Communication: Serve as the vital link between the medical team and the patient’s family, providing clear and empathetic updates on health status and prognosis.

• Health Management Education: Educate families on health management, recovery expectations, and end-of-life care when appropriate.

• Holistic Care: Ensure the patient's dignity and comfort are maintained through meticulous hygiene, positioning, and pain management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: BA/BSc/HND in Nursing.

• Licensure: Must hold an active Nursing License with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

• Certifications: Post-basic certification in Critical Care Nursing or Emergency Nursing is highly desirable.

• Location: Must be able to work On-site in Ikeja, Lagos on a full-time basis.
