We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our team in Alausa–Ikeja, Lagos.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the organization.
  • The candidate must have solid experience in underwriting, with a strong understanding of HMO operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance processes, and risk management systems.
  • Review and evaluate underwriting processes to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
  • Identify areas of weakness or non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform regular reviews of financial, operational, and administrative procedures.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow up to ensure full compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen governance and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, HMO standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Support management in developing and updating audit frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in internal auditing, with mandatory experience in underwriting within the HMO or insurance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the HMO/health insurance industry.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • High level of integrity, objectivity, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and audit tools is an added advantage.
