Job Description:
- General assistance and support to the Health, Safety &Environment Officers, Fire Safety Supervisor and Health, Safety & Environment Manager, ensuring safe practices within Golden Sugar Plant in cooperation with relevant functional heads and safety officers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general support and assistance to the Health, Safety & Environment offers and Health, Safety & Environment Manager.
- Inspect work areas and premises for hazardous elements.
- Educate workers and employees on safety aspects.
- Ensure strict adherence to corporate safety guidelines and procedures.
- Initiate and implement safety measures in the workplace
- Assist in incident investigation where required and ensure related policies and standards are followed.
- Liaise with relevant department to manage issues relating to facility service provision and specifically waste disposal, plant building and safety audit non conformance.
- Assist the fire safety supervisor with the management of fire safety throughout the plant.
- Assist in the issuance and supervision of hot work permit and other permit-based jobs carried out within Golden Sugar Premises.
Requirements:
- Have good and written communication skills.
- Have a good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures applicable to FMCG manufacturing operations, including production lines, warehouses, and utilities areas.
- Possess the ability to support safety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks within production and warehouse environments to promote safe work practices.
- Demonstrate good incident reporting, investigation, and documentation skills, including near-miss reporting and corrective action tracking in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Be knowledgeable in FMCG safety standards, including machine safety, chemical handling, hygiene requirements, waste management, and emergency response procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in relevant discipline.
- ISPON Certificate
- Minimum of 2 years HSE experience.
