Job Description:
- We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to oversee and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards across our film production sets, studios, offices, and outdoor locations.
- The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote a strong safety culture, and minimize health, safety, and environmental risks during all stages of film production and distribution activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analyses for film sets, production equipment, and office environments.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of production equipment, props, electrical tools, pyrotechnics (where applicable), and vehicles.
- Monitor on-set activities to ensure compliance with approved safety plans and safe work practices.
- Ensure environmentally responsible practices on film sets and office locations, including waste management and pollution control.
- Promote sustainable practices during productions, such as efficient energy use and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific HSE regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, including incident reports, risk registers, safety checklists, and audit reports.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks for cast, crew, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize HSE training programs on emergency response, fire safety, first aid, and safe equipment usage.
- Promote a safety-first culture across all departments and productions.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for filming locations, studios, and offices.
- Coordinate emergency drills, including fire, medical, and evacuation exercises.
- Act as the first point of contact for HSE-related emergencies on set and at office locations.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian HSE laws and international safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, depending on production schedules.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and risk assessment abilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional HSE certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) are required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in an HSE role, preferably within film production, media, events, construction, or related industries.
Salary
