Job Description:
The Head of Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous optimization of the Bank’s operational DNA. You will lead the charge in transforming daily banking activities—payments, settlements, and credit operations—into a seamless, risk-averse, and highly efficient engine for business growth. Beyond oversight, you will serve as a key Business Advisor to the Board and Management, leveraging technology and innovation to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a seasoned banking professional who can navigate complex regulatory landscapes while fostering a culture of service excellence and high performance.
Requirements:
1. Operational Strategy & Oversight
Daily Ecosystem Management: Oversee the integrity of payments, settlements, account services, and transaction processing.
Operational Innovation: Design and implement strategic initiatives that leverage technology to improve the Bank’s competitive advantage and "Cost-to-Serve" ratios.
Process Engineering: Build and lead the implementation of systems and controls that eliminate operational bottlenecks and mitigate risks.
2. Risk Management & Credit Operations
Operational Risk: Proactively identify and assess risks within internal control processes to minimize operational errors and financial losses.
Credit Support: Manage efficient credit operations workflows to support rapid portfolio growth while collaborating with Credit Risk teams to ensure loan quality.
Regulatory Compliance: Act as the primary gatekeeper for evolving regulatory requirements (CBN/NDIC), leading the internal pivot of systems and procedures to ensure 100% compliance.
3. Service Excellence & Stakeholder Leadership
Customer Experience: Implement real-time monitoring systems to track service KPIs and address customer pain points, ensuring a "Service-First" culture.
Vendor & Third-Party Management: Lead contract negotiations and SLA monitoring for key service providers and technology partners.
Team Mentorship: Lead and coach a multi-disciplinary operations team, establishing a high-performance culture focused on development and employee satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Experience & Education
Academics: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Tenure: Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, with a significant portion spent in a leadership role within Microfinance or Commercial Banking operations.
Banking Mastery: Deep understanding of transaction processing, market dynamics, and the Nigerian regulatory environment.
Core Behavioral Competencies
