Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic and highly experienced Head of HR & Administration to lead our people operations and administrative functions. In this role, you will act as a vital business partner, aligning HR programs including recruitment, performance management, and organizational development with our core commercial and operational goals. You will be responsible for fostering a high-performance culture, managing complex expatriate logistics, and overseeing the entire administrative arm of the business to ensure cost-effectiveness and total policy compliance.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a "people-first" mindset and the professional rigor to navigate the regulatory and operational complexities of a manufacturing or retail environment.

Requirements:

HR Business Partnering & Strategic OD

  • Strategic Advisory: Collaborate with Department Heads to design HR solutions that drive business outcomes and mitigate organizational risk.

  • Organizational Development: Lead succession planning, change management, and job design initiatives to ensure a superior workforce and high employee retention.

  • Cultural Transformation: Monitor and shape the organization's culture to promote employee satisfaction while attaining strategic milestones.

Talent Acquisition & Performance Management

  • Recruitment Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end hiring process, from standardizing recruitment practices to conducting assessments and executive-level interviews.

  • Performance Excellence: Implement a robust performance management system, including development plans, periodic appraisals, and performance improvement (PIP) initiatives.

  • Training & Development: Identify skills gaps and develop an annual training calendar, utilizing both in-house workshops and external consultants.

Compensation, Benefits & Records

  • Payroll Oversight: Supervise the computation of salaries, benefits, and deductions (pension, insurance, taxes) ensuring 100% accuracy and promptness.

  • Record Management: Maintain impeccable personnel files and digital databases via ERP software; prepare comprehensive HR reports (MPR) for Board and Management meetings.

Employee Relations & Consequence Management

  • Disciplinary Action: Conduct investigations into flagged issues, coordinate disciplinary panels, and manage the progressive discipline system (queries, suspensions, terminations).

  • Engagement & Welfare: Formulate policies that promote positive employer-employee relationships and oversee staff health, safety, and leave administration.

Expatriate Management & General Administration

  • Immigration & Compliance: Manage expatriate documentation, including visa renewals and the timely submission of monthly Expatriate Quota Returns.

  • Facility & Logistics: Oversee the administrative arm of the business, including facility maintenance, fleet management, and environmental/health regulatory compliance.

  • Cost Management: Approve and monitor all administrative expenditures to ensure effective resource allocation across all touchpoints.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Degree: B.Sc. in any Social Science course or a related field.

  • Experience: 6–8 years of experience as a Head of HR/Admin, with a total of at least 5 years in progressive leadership roles.

  • Sector Knowledge: Previous experience in a manufacturing or retail company is essential.

  • Certification: CIPM, ACIPM, or SHRM qualification is a significant advantage.

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Law & Practice: General knowledge of Nigerian employment laws and practices.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative decision-making abilities and proficiency in HR reporting.

  • Software: Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP/Payroll systems.
