The Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) is offering a unique opportunity to build a world-class institution characterized by excellence. We are looking for a precision-driven Finance Officer to lead our student finance operations and institutional revenue management.

In this role, you aren't just processing numbers; you are managing the financial lifecycle of our scholars. You will be responsible for the end-to-end revenue pipeline—from fee configuration and student billing to proactive receivables management and institutional financial reporting. Requirements:

1. Student Revenue Lifecycle & Receivables

• Invoicing & Billing Mastery: Manage the accurate billing and collection of tuition and ancillary fees, ensuring that student accounts are updated in real-time within the ERP/Student Management System.

• Proactive Credit Control: Monitor outstanding balances and implement professional follow-up strategies for overdue accounts, while managing payment plans and scholarship adjustments.

• Student-Centric Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and students, providing clarity on fee structures, refunds, and financial policies with a service-first approach.

2. Financial Reporting & Audit Support

• General Ledger Integrity: Support the Head Accountant in posting income-related transactions and performing rigorous reconciliations of tuition revenue and bank deposits.

• Data-Driven Analysis: Generate periodic revenue projections and receivables reports to support institutional cash flow planning and strategic decision-making.

• Audit Readiness: Maintain comprehensive, organized financial records to ensure seamless compliance during internal and external audit exercises.

3. Systems Optimization & Collaboration

• ERP Stewardship: Ensure all financial data is accurately captured in institutional software (e.g., Sage, SAP, or QuickBooks), maintaining the highest standards of data integrity.

• Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate with Admissions, Registry, and IT units to automate fee management processes and improve the transparency of reporting systems.

• Process Innovation: Identify and recommend technical or procedural improvements to enhance the efficiency of the finance department.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-graduation experience. Experience within an educational institution or the public sector is highly preferred.

• Technical Stack: Proficiency in Accounting Software (Sage, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel.

• Certification: Professional membership or student status (ICAN, ACCA, etc.) is a significant advantage.
