Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber, strategic Finance Manager to lead the financial health of our haulage and mining operations in Ogun State. In an industry defined by high capital expenditure, complex logistics, and rigorous tax compliance, your role is to be the guardian of our liquidity and the architect of our financial growth.
This is a leadership position requiring a "take-ownership" mindset. You will not only oversee the day-to-day fiscal activity but will also partner with executive management to drive investment strategies, mitigate operational risks, and optimize our Odoo ERP environment. Requirements:
1. Leadership & Strategic Financial Engineering
Strategic Input: Serve as a key advisor to senior management, providing data-driven input on long-term investments, fleet expansion, and mining site acquisitions.
Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Continuously monitor the financial horizon to identify risks (e.g., fuel price volatility, currency fluctuations) and opportunities for cost optimization.
KPI & Goal Alignment: Develop and track sophisticated financial KPIs that align with the heavy-duty nature of haulage and mining.
2. Financial Operations & Cash Governance
Scorecard & Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly financial scorecard reviews, deep-diving into variances between actual spend and budgets to create rapid adjustment plans.
Cash Flow Orchestration: Prepare high-precision cash flow projections and forecasting reports. In the mining sector, managing "Cash Position" is critical—you will oversee liquidity risks and investment strategies.
Receivables & Aging Control: Aggressively manage the receivables pipeline, addressing aging issues to ensure the company’s working capital remains robust.
3. Compliance, Tax & ERP Management
Odoo ERP Stewardship: Lead the finance unit’s operations within the Odoo ERP environment, ensuring all accounting procedures and financial controls are digitized and transparent.
Statutory Rigor: Ensure 100% compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, ensuring all statutory deductions and returns (WHT, VAT, CIT) are filed accurately and on time.
Audit & Governance: Manage the internal and external audit processes, maintaining "clean-room" financial records and enforcing corporate governance standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. MBA/MSc/MA is required.
Certification: ICAN or ACCA is a MUST.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years cognate experience, preferably in Haulage, Mining, Construction, or Manufacturing.
Software: Proven proficiency in Odoo ERP and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Core Competencies
Creative Problem Solving: Ability to apply rigorous logic to solve complex logistical and financial bottlenecks.
Relocation Readiness: Ability to relocate to Abeokuta, Ogun State (Note: No staff accommodation provided).
Communication: High emotional intelligence with the ability to present complex financial data to non-finance executives.
Age Preference: Candidates below 35 years of age are preferred.
