About Company:
Mikson Industries Limited is a Private Limited Liability Company established in 1985, operating in importation, distribution, and wholesale in Nigeria. Over the years, we have expanded beyond consumer and industrial goods to include the distribution of veterinary and aquaculture medicines, helping farmers, retailers, etc.
Job Description:
Mikson Industries is seeking a disciplined, detail-obsessed Accountant to own the day-to-day financial integrity of our distribution and retail operations. This is not a "back-office" role; you are the guardian of our cash flow, the auditor of our stock movements, and the voice of financial discipline across our outlets.
Your mission is to ensure that every kobo and every unit of stock is accounted for. From reconciling POS settlements to investigating warehouse shrinkage and managing distributor credit, you will provide the clean records and reliable reporting that drive our growth. At Mikson, integrity isn’t negotiable—we need a professional who ensures there are no "silent leakages" and no "magic" in the books.
Requirements:
1. Revenue Assurance & Outlet Control
Daily Triple-Reconciliation: Match daily sales (Cash, POS, Transfers) against physical invoices/receipts, confirming bank credits for every transaction.
Cash Flow Governance: Track the full lifecycle of liquidity: Cash Received $\rightarrow$ Cash Held $\rightarrow$ Deposits $\rightarrow$ Bank Confirmation.
Receivables & Credit Discipline: Manage the AR aging report for distributors and retailers, enforcing credit limits and lead-times to ensure healthy cash velocity.
2. Inventory-Finance Synchronization
Stock-to-Cash Link: Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure that Stock In = Recorded and Stock Out = Invoiced, closing the loop on physical vs. digital inventory.
Shrinkage Investigation: Support periodic stock counts and lead deep-dive investigations into damages, expired items (vet drugs/feed additives), and undocumented adjustments.
Payables Management: Reconcile supplier statements, ensuring Mikson policies on discounts and payment terms are strictly applied.
3. Reporting, Controls & Audit Readiness
Performance Insights: Prepare weekly/monthly reports on Sales by Channel, Expenses vs. Budget, and Gross Margin tracking to support management decisions.
Bank & POS Reconciliation: Resolve variances in POS settlements and transfer alerts with high speed and accuracy.
Internal Control Enforcement: Maintain a rigorous, audit-ready filing system (Physical + Digital) and enforce strict approval hierarchies for all expenses.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: OND/HND/BSc in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: 2+ years in accounting, with a strong preference for Distribution, Retail, or Warehouse environments.
Technical Stack: Advanced Excel (Templates, VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems (ERPNext is a plus).
Basics: Mastery of the "Accounting Engine"—Ledgers, AP/AR, and Bank Reconciliations.
Core Competencies
High-Integrity Mindset: Zero tolerance for undocumented payments or backdated entries.
Analytical Detail: The ability to spot a discrepancy in a 500-line bank statement or stock sheet instantly.
Pressure Resilience: Comfortable managing the fast-paced demands of a multi-outlet distribution business.
