Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber, sophisticated Executive Assistant (EA) to serve as the primary strategic partner to our Managing Director. This is far more than an administrative role; it is a "Force Multiplier" position designed for a professional who can navigate complex corporate ecosystems, manage high-stakes stakeholder relationships, and serve as a proxy for the MD’s vision.

In the dynamic landscape of the Nigerian retail sector, your mission is to ensure the MD remains focused on 20% of activities that drive 80% of the results. You will be the guardian of the MD's time, the architect of their schedule, and the bridge between the executive office and the rest of the organization. If you possess a "forensic" attention to detail, a deep understanding of local business etiquette, and the discretion to handle sensitive data, we want you at the helm of our executive operations.

Requirements:

1. Executive Operations & Gatekeeping

  • Strategic Calendar Management: Move beyond simple scheduling to proactive "Time Engineering," prioritizing high-value meetings and protecting the MD’s focus blocks.

  • Complex Logistics: Design and execute end-to-end domestic and international travel itineraries, ensuring seamless movement between stores, corporate offices, and partner sites.

  • Correspondence Mastery: Manage the MD’s inbox and official correspondence with the precision of a professional communicator, drafting high-level briefs, speeches, and reports.

2. Stakeholder Diplomacy & Cultural Intelligence

  • Primary Point of Contact: Act as the face of the MD’s office, engaging with Board members, government officials, and key retail partners with the appropriate level of protocol and respect.

  • Local Protocol Excellence: Utilize your deep understanding of Nigerian business culture to navigate formal and informal networks, ensuring the MD’s interactions are culturally resonant and professional.

  • Meeting & Event Orchestration: Lead the coordination of executive retreats, board meetings, and retail site visits, ensuring all technical, logistical, and agenda requirements are met flawlessly.

3. Confidentiality & Problem Solving

  • Discretionary Shield: Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding sensitive corporate data, personnel issues, and strategic initiatives.

  • Proactive Troubleshooting: Anticipate bottlenecks in the MD's workflow and implement solutions before they escalate into operational issues.

  • Personal Assistance: Provide discretionary support for the MD’s personal logistics to ensure their professional effectiveness is never compromised by external distractions.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

  • Experience: 4–10 years of experience supporting C-suite executives within a structured corporate environment.

  • Sector Context: Experience in Retail or fast-moving consumer industries is a significant advantage.

  • Linguistic Skill: Fluency in English and at least one major Nigerian language is highly preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Cultural Sensitivity: A mastery of Nigerian corporate communication and social protocols.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level command of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Adaptability: The ability to remain calm and resourceful in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
