Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned, commercially-minded Contract Manager to oversee our marine service contracts. This is a critical leadership role that sits at the intersection of operational excellence, client relationship management, and financial stewardship. You will act as a trusted partner to our clients, ensuring that every operational aspect—from tug performance to safety compliance—not only meets contractual obligations but exceeds expectations while maintaining strict budget control.

Requirements:

  • Operational Excellence: Drive the professional, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of services. You are accountable for the total performance of the contract, ensuring all operational and vessel personnel strictly adhere to company policies, SHEQ standards, and industry regulations.

  • Client Stewardship: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client. You will build and maintain a strong working relationship, holding regular performance reviews based on pre-agreed KPIs to ensure full satisfaction.

  • Financial & Performance Oversight: Manage the contract budget, provide strategic input for annual budgeting, and deliver accurate monthly/quarterly financial performance reports.

  • Safety & Compliance: Champion a "safety-first" culture. You will ensure that all operations are undertaken safely and that any instances of non-compliance are rigorously analyzed, evaluated, and resolved through swift corrective/preventive actions.

  • Team Leadership: Partner with HR to facilitate the training and development of your staff. You will lead annual performance appraisals for shore staff, Captains, and (in coordination with the technical department) Chief Engineers.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Residency: Candidate must already be based in Nigeria.

  • Industry Expertise:

    • Significant experience in Marine Operations.

    • In-depth understanding of the Marine Industry and Terminal Operations.

  • Professional Background:

    • Strongly preferred: Sea-going experience as Master, Chief Officer, or Chief Engineer.

    • Required: Onshore management experience in a comparable capacity.

  • Key Qualities: A results-driven professional who balances technical marine knowledge with commercial business acumen.
