Job Description:

  • The Business Development Manager – Risk Assets (Platforms/Business) is responsible for leading the strategy, acquisition, and management of risk asset portfolios through innovative platforms and business partnerships.
  • This role focuses on scaling the company’s lending operations, mitigating risks, and driving revenue growth while aligning with organizational objective

 

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for growing risk asset portfolios through partnerships, platform integrations, and direct business engagements.
  • Identify and prioritize market opportunities that align with the company’s financial goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set targets and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

 

Risk Asset Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the evaluation, approval, and onboarding of partnerships that drive the growth of risk assets.
  • Ensure all credit opportunities meet the organization’s risk management policies and compliance standards.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of risk asset portfolios, ensuring portfolio health and profitability.

 

Stakeholder Management and Negotiation:

  • Build and nurture relationships with strategic partners, business clients, and financial institutions to secure profitable opportunities.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements with partners and clients, balancing risk and return.
  • Serve as the primary contact for platform partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

 

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Development Officers to achieve departmental goals.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including credit, risk, compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team’s capabilities in managing risk assets.

 

Market Analysis and Research:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze data to inform decision-making and adjust strategies in response to market conditions.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments and their impact on risk asset management and lending practices.

 

Reporting and Performance Metrics:

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including portfolio growth, asset quality, and revenue contributions.
  • Provide detailed performance analyses and insights to senior management, highlighting opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Develop forecasts and projections to support business planning and risk  mitigation strategies

Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
  • MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, or similar) are highly preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in business development, credit risk management, or related fields within financial services or fintech.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and scaling risk asset portfolios.

 

Key Skills:

  • Deep understanding of credit risk assessment, asset-based lending, and financial products.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
