Job Description:

We are launching a lean, tech-driven laboratory in Abuja to provide world-class analytical services to the mining and exploration sector. We aren't just looking for an employee; we are looking for a Founding Team Member who will set the gold standard for geochemistry in the region.

As our Billing Officer, you own the critical "LIMS-to-Invoice" pipeline. In a high-precision lab environment, billing is more than just data entry—it is Revenue Assurance. You will translate complex technical assays and sample preparations into accurate financial documents, ensuring that every grain of "work done" is captured and collected.

Requirements:

1. Precision Invoicing & Revenue Capture

• LIMS Integration: Transform technical "work orders" from the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) into clear, itemized client bills.

• SLA Governance: Cross-reference every report against specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You must ensure that volume-based discounts and bespoke project rates are applied with 100% accuracy.

• Rate Management: Maintain the master database for the Standardized Price List versus bespoke client contracts.

2. Accounts Receivable & Real-Time Tracking

• Aging Report Oversight: Maintain a real-time Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging Report, providing the Laboratory Manager with a clear view of the lab’s liquidity.

• Proactive Collections: Execute "Debt Collection Support" by managing professional, scheduled reminders for overdue invoices, ensuring healthy cash flow.

• Risk Identification: Identify high-risk or chronically delinquent accounts and provide strategic briefs to management for escalation.

3. Client Liaison & Technical Dispute Resolution

• Financial Point-of-Contact: Serve as the first-line support for all billing inquiries from exploration and mining firms.

• Assay Verification: Investigate disputed charges by collaborating with the technical lab team to verify if the correct assay methods or sample prep charges were applied.

• Relationship Management: Resolve financial friction professionally, ensuring that a billing error never compromises a high-value B2B partnership.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Minimum of an OND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: 1 year in service-based accounting. (Experience in a laboratory, engineering, or technical service environment is a major plus).

• Tech Stack: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, Sage, etc.) and advanced Excel.

Core Competencies

• Technical Literacy: Ability to learn and navigate LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).

• High-Stakes Precision: A relentless eye for detail; in this lab, a 1% error is unacceptable.

• Communication: Ability to discuss technical assay billing with geologists and financial terms with accountants.
