Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and numerically gifted Accounting Teacher to join our academic team in Surulere. In this role, you will be responsible for molding the next generation of finance professionals by delivering a comprehensive curriculum that covers financial accounting, bookkeeping, and business mathematics. The ideal candidate is an educator who combines pedagogical excellence with real-world financial insights, ensuring that students not only pass examinations but also develop a deep-seated understanding of financial principles.

Requirements:

1. Curriculum Delivery & Instructional Mastery

• Conceptual Clarity: Simplify complex accounting topics such as final accounts, depreciation, partnership accounts, and company financial statements for secondary level students.

• Lesson Architecture: Develop structured lesson plans that align with the national curriculum while incorporating modern teaching aids and practical examples.

• Digital Literacy: Integrate basic accounting software concepts or Excel-based exercises to give students a contemporary view of the profession.

2. Assessment & Academic Growth

• Performance Tracking: Conduct regular tests, assignments, and mock examinations to assess student progress and readiness for external certifications (e.g., WAEC, NECO).

• Remedial Support: Identify students struggling with numerical concepts and implement targeted intervention strategies to improve learning outcomes.

• Standardized Excellence: Ensure that the department maintains high pass rates through disciplined revision and examination techniques.

3. Classroom Governance & Mentorship

• Environment Management: Maintain a disciplined and stimulating classroom environment that encourages participation and critical thinking.

• Career Advocacy: Serve as a mentor for students interested in pursuing careers in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, guiding them on professional pathways (e.g., ICAN/ACCA).

• Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to parents and school management regarding student performance and behavioral development.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Professional Profile

• Academic: B.Ed., B.Sc., or HND in Accounting, Business Education, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of one year of active teaching experience in a recognized secondary school.

• Professional Advantage: Possession of a TRCN (Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria) certificate is a plus.

Core Competencies

• Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of Financial Accounting principles and the current secondary school syllabus.

• Communication: Ability to explain abstract numerical concepts in a clear, patient, and engaging manner.

• Proximity: Must reside in Ijeshatedo, Surulere, or nearby areas in Lagos to ensure punctual attendance and community integration.
