Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Financial Documentation & Reporting
Transaction Management: Prepare and process all branch financial documentation, including sales invoices, payment records, and expense tracking.
Bookkeeping Excellence: Maintain the branch's financial books by sorting and posting financial documents into the correct ledgers and accounts.
Budgetary Support: Collaborate with the Head of Accounts to prepare the annual and quarterly branch budgets.
Reconciliation & Internal Controls
General Ledger Alignment: Ensure daily and monthly reconciliation of branch accounts, resolving any discrepancies between branch records and the General Ledger.
Petty Cash Oversight: Monitor, analyze, and post petty cash expenses into the organization’s accounting software, ensuring all disbursements are approved and documented.
Cost Monitoring: Maintain accurate, real-time records of all branch operational costs and overhead expenses.
Compliance & Governance
Policy Enforcement: Ensure all branch financial activities strictly comply with internal company policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., CBN, NDIC).
Audit Readiness: Keep records in a continuous state of audit-readiness to support internal and external examinations.
Ad-hoc Duties: Perform any other financial or administrative duties as assigned by management to support branch success.
Requirements:
Technical Skills: * Mastery of MS Office Suite (especially advanced Excel).
Hands-on proficiency in Accounting Software (e.g., Tally, Sage, QuickBooks, or proprietary Banking Software).
Sector Knowledge: Solid understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting standards (IFRS), and reconciliation processing.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: HND, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience as an Accountant, with a strong preference for those coming from Microfinance (MfB), Banking, or Financial Services.
Technical Skills: * Mastery of MS Office Suite (especially advanced Excel).
Hands-on proficiency in Accounting Software (e.g., Tally, Sage, QuickBooks, or proprietary Banking Software).
Sector Knowledge: Solid understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting standards (IFRS), and reconciliation processing.
