Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial operations at our facility in Owaza. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing daily accounting activities, and ensuring that our production-related costs and revenues are tracked with precision. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our operations and supporting data-driven decision-making.
Requirements:
Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable records.
Cost Accounting: Track and analyze production costs, including raw material usage, labor, and overheads, to ensure accurate product costing and variance analysis.
Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts to support business planning and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Tax: Ensure adherence to all statutory financial regulations, including tax filings (CIT, VAT, PAYE) and pension remittances.
Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards to ensure financial integrity.
Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes to improve the speed and accuracy of financial reporting.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Industry Context: Previous experience working in a factory or production environment is highly preferred, specifically regarding inventory valuation and cost accounting.
Certification: Possession of a professional certification such as ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) is an added advantage.
Key Competencies:
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
Deep understanding of financial principles, tax laws, and GAAP/IFRS standards.
Ability to analyze financial data and translate it into actionable business insights.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and organizational skill.
