Job Description:

Flutterwave is seeking a visionary Treasurer, Africa to architect and lead our pan-African treasury strategy. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for the sophisticated management of financial risk, capital optimization, and liquidity across a diverse and dynamic global landscape.

As the primary custodian of Flutterwave’s financial stability, you will bridge the gap between traditional banking infrastructure and the future of digital payments—including Crypto and DeFi workflows. You will lead a high-performing function that doesn't just manage cash, but strategically capitalizes on market opportunities to drive profitability and ensure "zero-failure" operational liquidity. Requirements:

1. Strategic Treasury & Liquidity Architecture

• Treasury Scaling: Lead the development and scaling of a world-class treasury function, managing cash, investments, and liquidity across all major global positions.

• Capital Optimization: Collaborate with the CFO on capital structure, fundraising (e.g., CP issuances, term loans), and the investment of excess cash into high-yield, low-risk instruments.

• Expansion Integration: Partner with the Expansion Team to build the financial infrastructure and banking rails required for new market entries.

2. Financial Risk & Exposure Management

• Risk Frameworks: Establish and maintain robust policies for FX, Interest Rate, and Liquidity risks, ensuring the company is shielded from volatility in emerging markets.

• Hedging Excellence: Oversee the monitoring of financial exposure and execute sophisticated hedging strategies to mitigate potential losses.

• Regulatory Governance: Ensure all treasury transactions and structures comply with local and international regulatory requirements across Africa and G10 jurisdictions.

3. High-Value Operations & Product Pricing

• Merchant Structuring: Structure complex treasury deals for large enterprise and concierge merchants, facilitating high-volume cross-border movement.

• Pricing Strategy: Contribute to the pricing rules for remittance and new payment products, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.

• Banking Partnerships: Build and manage high-level relationships with global banks, financial institutions, and DeFi platform providers to enhance treasury performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Pedigree

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Economics. A Master’s degree or elite certifications (ACT, CFA, FRM, ACA, or CTP) are highly preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 12 years of senior-level experience in Treasury or Financial Management, with a deep network of global financial partners.

• Industry IQ: Profound understanding of international payments, banking systems, and Crypto/DeFi workflow platforms.

• Market Expertise: Demonstrated experience navigating both Emerging Markets (Africa) and G10 financial operations.

Technical & Leadership Skills

• Analytical Tools: Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and specialized Treasury Management Systems (TMS).

• Strategic Execution: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.

• Integrity: An uncompromising sense of accountability and ethical standards.
