Job Description:
- The Senior Procurement Specialist leads the sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for key materials, equipment, and services across the company’s energy portfolio, including smart meters, solar systems, power generation equipment, and O&M contracts.
- This role requires deep knowledge of local and international supply markets, energy industry regulations, and project delivery requirements in fast-paced, regulated environments.
- This role is critical in optimizing procurement efficiency, minimizing supply chain risk, and aligning commercial terms with project and corporate goals.
Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Planning:
- Develop and execute category-specific procurement strategies based on project forecasts, technical specifications, and inventory analytics.
- Monitor material lead times and adjust sourcing plans to avoid project delays.
- Identify opportunities for local content enhancement in line with NCDMB and NERC requirements.
- Align procurement milestones with PRIMAVERA project schedules.
Sourcing, Contracting, and Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and pre-qualify global and local vendors across categories (solar components, metering, cabling, transformers, civil contractors, fleet logistics, etc.).
- Execute competitive bid processes including RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions where necessary.
- Negotiate payment terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and performance SLAs.
- Draft and review purchase agreements, frame contracts, and service-level agreements in collaboration with legal and engineering.
- Utilize PRODOM or UNISUP systems for bid processing and contract workflow.
Compliance, Risk Management, and Reporting:
- Ensure procurement policies align with NERC, BPP (for public sector jobs), NCDMB, and IFRS standards.
- Perform commercial evaluations in conjunction with technical assessments.
- Maintain procurement dashboards and KPIs (cost savings, cycle time, PO accuracy, vendor scorecards).
- Conduct market intelligence analysis on pricing trends, geopolitical risks, and FX exposure.
- Support contract close-out procedures aligned with TEPNG, NAPIMS, and DPR requirements.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Administration. MBA preferred.
- 10 – 12 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in oil & gas, energy, or renewable sectors.
- Professional certifications (CIPS, ISM, PMP) are highly desirable.
- Strong experience with ERP procurement modules (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, UNISUP).
- Familiarity with vendor pre-qualification for IOCs, EPCs, and NERC/NCDMB frameworks.

- Strong contract negotiation and vendor engagement skills
- Deep understanding of import/export processes, INCO terms, customs clearance
- Commercial acumen and risk assessment capabilities
