About Company:
Ellasot Consulting - Our client, a reputable Oil & Gas Servicing company, is recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position above.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-potential Graduate Trainee Procurement Officer to serve as the operational engine of our supply chain team in Port Harcourt. In the Nigerian Oil & Gas sector, procurement is the critical link between project timelines and operational success. This role is designed for an "Early-Career Strategist", a B.Sc/HND holder with 0–2 years of post-NYSC experience who is eager to master the complexities of oilfield equipment sourcing, NIPEX regulations, and vendor diplomacy.
Your mission is to ensure "Right Quality, Right Price, Right Time." You will be responsible for the entire procurement lifecycle: from drafting Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and analyzing supplier bids to conducting physical inspections of high-spec oilfield tools. If you possess a "Data-Driven" mindset and the professional grit to thrive in the fast-paced energy corridor of Rivers State, we want you to grow with us.
Requirements:
1. Sourcing Architecture & Bid Management
Technical Sourcing: Identify and evaluate reliable global and local vendors for mission-critical oilfield materials, equipment, and specialized services.
The RFQ Process: Prepare professional procurement proposals and RFQs, ensuring all technical specifications are clearly communicated to potential suppliers.
Comparative Analysis: Conduct deep-dive reviews of supplier quotations, analyzing pricing, lead times, and technical compliance to recommend the optimal procurement path.
2. Vendor Diplomacy & Contract Governance
Relationship Management: Maintain and develop a robust database of pre-qualified vendors, fostering long-term partnerships that drive cost-efficiency.
Negotiation Support: Assist senior procurement leads in contract negotiations, learning to leverage market trends and industry data to secure favorable terms.
Performance Monitoring: Track supplier delivery timelines and resolve procurement-related bottlenecks to ensure zero disruption to field operations.
3. Quality Assurance & Regulatory Alignment
Material Inspection: Physically evaluate purchased items upon delivery to ensure they meet the rigorous quality and safety standards required in the oil and gas industry.
Local Content Stewardship: Gain exposure to NIPEX and Nigerian Content (NCDMB) requirements, ensuring all procurement activities align with national regulatory frameworks.
Data Integrity: Maintain meticulous, audit-ready procurement records and conduct continuous market research to identify emerging supply chain trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: B.Sc Degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
Experience: 0 – 2 years post-NYSC experience. Graduate Trainees with relevant internship exposure (at least 1 year) in an Oil & Gas servicing environment are highly encouraged to apply.
Industry Knowledge: Foundational familiarity with oilfield equipment and procurement processes. Knowledge of the NIPEX portal is a significant advantage.
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Strong data management skills with a high attention to detail.
Operational Agility: The ability to thrive in a high-pressure, professional environment with a "Ready-to-Learn" attitude.
