Job Description:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with local laws and industry best practices.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and verify compliance with safety standards.
Deliver safety training and orientation sessions covering emergency response, hazard communication, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Keep abreast of evolving safety regulations and standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
Manage pest control activities and coordinate with pest control service providers.
Communicate safety policies, updates, and initiatives clearly through meetings, memos, and training.
Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain detailed and accurate safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident logs, and training records.
Conduct risk assessments and assist with implementing preventive and corrective measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
Collaborate with external safety consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies during safety inspections and audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications or additional experience are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar health and safety role.
- Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Food Safety standards such as FSSC 22000.
- Strong knowledge of local safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficient in hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementing effective control measures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for investigating incidents and driving improvements.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage time efficiently.
- Skilled in using safety reporting tools, data analysis software, and maintaining accurate safety records.
