Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and vigilant HSE Officer to champion safety and regulatory compliance at our Flow Station. In this critical field-based role, you will be responsible for enforcing rigorous safety standards, managing hazardous operational risks, and fostering a "safety-first" culture among employees and contractors alike. This position is ideal for a seasoned safety professional who thrives in the demanding, high-stakes environment of the oil and gas industry.

Requirements:

  • Operational Oversight: Conduct daily site inspections, monitor safety-critical equipment (fire/gas detection), and oversee high-risk activities such as lifting operations.

  • Compliance & PTW Management: Lead the Permit to Work (PTW) system from issuance to close-out. Review all contractor HSE plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and equipment certifications to ensure they meet our internal and regulatory benchmarks.

  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as the site representative during audits by regulatory bodies (e.g., NUPRC/DPR, NOSDRA). Maintain oil spill response readiness and ensure all incidents are reported, investigated, and tracked to closure.

  • Risk Management: Facilitate toolbox talks, HSE committee meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure the Management of Change (MOC) process is strictly followed.

  • Reporting: Produce timely, accurate daily, weekly, and monthly HSE performance reports, maintaining all required registers and incident logs.

  • Emergency Response: Coordinate drills, evacuation procedures, and emergency response activities to ensure personnel are always prepared for contingencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an HSE capacity specifically within the Oil & Gas industry.

  • Certification: Possession of a NEBOSH International General Certificate is considered a significant advantage.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of oil and gas safety regulations and international operational standards, including ISO, OSHA, ISM, and ISPS.

  • Core Competencies: Ability to work effectively in a field environment, clear communication of safety expectations, and an uncompromising commitment to regulatory compliance.

N800,000 - N1,000,000 / Month
