Job Description:
We are seeking a high-level strategic leader to serve as our Head, Contract Management. You will be the commercial guardian of our entire EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) portfolio. This is a senior leadership position requiring a master negotiator and risk strategist who can navigate the complexities of international contracting frameworks, Nigerian regulatory requirements, and high-value offshore/onshore project delivery. You will ensure that our company’s commercial interests are protected, margins are secured, and disputes are mitigated through proactive governance.
Requirements:
Strategic Commercial Governance: Define and oversee the enterprise-wide contract governance framework. Lead the negotiation of complex EPCIC contracts and framework agreements, ensuring optimal risk allocation and protection of company margins.
Claims & Dispute Management: Lead the charge on variations, Extensions of Time (EOT) claims, and compensation events. You will be the primary commercial strategist in dispute avoidance, managing the interface between Legal, Project Controls, and Finance during adjudication or arbitration.
Project Commercial Lifecycle: Oversee strict implementation of contractual obligations. Monitor revenue leakage, manage bonds/guarantees, and ensure that project correspondence is strategically handled to preserve our rights and entitlements.
Subcontractor & Supply Chain Oversight: Ensure that all subcontract agreements are "back-to-back" with prime contracts to eliminate commercial gaps. Oversee the commercial performance of subcontractors and drive discipline across our supply chain.
Regulatory & Compliance Leadership: Ensure full compliance with the NOGICD Act, NUPRC/DPR requirements, and international frameworks (FIDIC, NEC, LOGIC).
Capability Building: Mentor and lead a high-performing contract management team. Drive the digital transformation of our commercial processes by integrating contract administration into our ERP and project control systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Commercial Management. (An MBA or Master’s degree is a distinct advantage).
Experience: 12–15 years of contract management experience in the Oil & Gas, EPCIC, or energy sectors, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Professional Credentials: Preferred certifications include IACCM/WorldCC, RICS, CIArb, or PMP.
Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience in high-value offshore/onshore EPC projects and complex subcontracting structures.
Attributes: Exceptional commercial acumen, the ability to influence C-suite decision-makers, and a proactive, risk-averse leadership style.
