Job Description:

  • As the Senior Finance Analyst for Nigeria, you will be a pivotal member of the Finance & Strategy team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance & Strategy, you will oversee the country's core financial operations and drive strategic automation projects that directly impact our bottom line.
  • In this role, you will be a people manager, responsible for leading and developing a Finance Analyst, requiring strong leadership and problem-solving skills in strategic situations.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Financial Operations: Supervising and ensuring the flawless execution of payments to our core ecosystem: suppliers, couriers, and partners.
  • FP&A: Leading local financial planning and analysis, budget tracking, and delivering accurate reports to senior leadership.
  • Strategic Automation & Optimization: Driving high-impact projects, such as leading the transition from manual, spreadsheet-based payment processes to automated systems.
  • Stakeholder Negotiation: Partnering and negotiating with external fintech providers and internal tech teams to optimize payment architectures and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in Financial Planning & Strategy, Finance Operations, or Audit, ideally within a fast-paced multinational or high-growth tech environment.
  • Management Skills: Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop direct reports.
  • Technical Tools: Intermediate to Advanced expertise with Excel/Google Sheets and strong SQL querying skills to extract and manipulate large datasets.
  • Accounting Foundation: Good accounting knowledge, including local GAAP & IFRS.
  • Analytical Mindset: An analytical mindset to analyze data and transform it into meaningful insights. You must be comfortable executing deep-dives to solve complex operational challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Agility: Ability to work seamlessly with different teams. You will constantly deal with regional stakeholders, HQ FP&A, and local ops/commercial teams.
  • Execution Focus: Proactive, organized, and obsessed with details to solve problems. You must have experience in system automation and process improvement.
  • Industry Fit: Interest in start-ups, technology, and a fast-paced environment. Experience in a start-up is a plus.
