Job Description:
We are seeking an energetic, resilient, and highly persuasive Sales Representative to anchor our merchant supply engine. In this hands-on field role, you will be the face of UrbanWish on the ground, taking full ownership of the end-to-end service provider acquisition and onboarding pipeline.
This position demands a unique blend of gritty, door-to-door field scouting and digital consultation. You will hunt for top-tier local service businesses (salons, gyms, maintenance firms, wellness hubs), pitch the commercial value of our marketplace, guide non-technical business owners through our digital onboarding framework, and strategically optimize their digital store listings to maximize their revenue and booking volumes.
Requirements:
1. Service Provider Acquisition & Field Prospecting
B2B Merchant Hunting: Identify, map, and aggressively prospect high-potential service providers across UrbanWish commercial categories through structured field deployments and cold outreach.
Value Proposition Pitching: Articulate the UrbanWish marketplace economics clearly and persuasively, demonstrating to business owners how our platform drives lead generation, minimizes down-time, and scales revenue.
Pipeline Conversion: Move high-value merchant leads systematically from initial doorstep engagement to a signed, active status on the platform, meeting weekly acquisition targets.
2. Digital Onboarding & Listing Optimization
Profile Architecture: Guide newly acquired service providers through our digital profile setup, ensuring business listings feature high-definition media, compelling service descriptions, and accurate operational hours.
Data Auditing & Cataloging: Audit provider catalogs for pricing precision, geographic mapping accuracy, and real-time availability sync.
Compliance & Verification: Shepherd business owners through internal trust and safety protocols, collecting necessary documentation, licenses, and identity verifications to secure verified platform badges.
3. Merchant Retention & Relationship Management
Account Stewardship: Serve as the primary, trusted point of contact for onboarded merchants, handling initial operational queries and ensuring a frictionless platform experience.
Growth Consulting: Educate business owners on platform best practices, teaching them how to leverage user reviews, optimize response times, and manage bookings to maximize their in-app visibility.
Product Feedback Loop: Gather real-world feedback and operational friction points from the field, synthesizing these insights for our internal product development and engineering teams.
4. Target Tracking & Regional Expansion
Pipeline Data Hygiene: Maintain meticulous records of field leads, active negotiations, completed verifications, and live merchants using internal databases and tracking sheets.
Expansion Support: Collaborate on cross-functional launch campaigns to seed supply and accelerate merchant density during geographic or category-specific platform expansions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Core Experience
Academic Background: Degree or diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline. Equivalent practical field experience will be highly weighted.
Track Record: 1 to 3+ years of progressive, verifiable success operating in field sales, business development, merchant acquisition, or territory marketing.
Technical Competencies & Skill Matrix
Digital Literacy: Exceptional ability to translate complex digital marketplace mechanics, application interfaces, and software workflows into simple, accessible language for non-technical small business owners (SMEs).
Communication Core: Elite verbal communication, active listening, and relationship-building skills. Must possess high emotional resilience to navigate field rejections.
Self-Governance: Fiercely self-motivated, highly organized, and single-mindedly driven by performance targets.
Nice-to-Have Indicators
Prior experience selling digital solutions, POS terminals, or marketing packages directly to SMEs, salons, gyms, hotels, or service-based enterprises.
Direct familiarity with online marketplaces, booking systems, on-demand applications, or SaaS models.
Practical exposure to working within or running a service-oriented retail business.
